The American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure will be coming to West Houston for Houston's inaugural ride on September 19th, and there are many ways Lakemont can help! The Tour de Cure will need sponsors, riders, teams, volunteers, and donations to make the ride a success. Your help will contribute to the ADA’s mission: To prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.A Few Facts on Diabetes:
- If current trends continue, 1 in 3 children born after the year 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime.
- Over 23.6 million Americans are influenced by diabetes
- 5 million of those don’t even know they have diabetes
- An additional 57 million people have pre-diabetes, putting them at great risk for developing type 2 diabetes
- Over $174 billion direct and indirect healthcare costs are attributed to diabetes

Become a Ride Sponsor - The ride offers benefits like DOE signage, vendor booths, and a company link on the local web site.
Form a Company Team - Wear your company t-shirt/jersey while you ride. The more riders you have the easier it is to get your company logo noticed.
Become a Volunteer - Promote goodwill in the community as you assist the hard-working athletes.

- The current goal to raise $100,000.00 is 49% complete, with $49,339.00 raised so far.The ride starts at Champion Nissan at 25550 Kingsland near Katy Mills Mall and will take place along beautiful countryside along common cycling routes.
- There are four options for routes: 100 miles, 64 miles, 32 miles, and 15 miles, with the earliest check-in starting at 6:30 AM.
