Fort Bend County Fair Well Under Way

From mutton-bustin' races to cook-offs to rodeos, the Fort Bend County Fair is under way. The 9 day event started things off last Friday and is finishing off this weekend. There is still time to get in on the fun for the remaining days of the fair, including the Calf Scramble & Mutton Bustin' event this Friday and Saturday.

This weekend will also host a barbecue cook-off, Bucket Calf Show, concerts, dancing, tractor pulls, and more.

"I think there is something for everybody, you can come out and entertain your family and have some good wholesome fun, whether you are walking through and seeing all the art work the kids have done or you go to the carnival or rodeo or if you just want to walk around the grounds and eat whatever your heart desires," Fort Bend County Fair President Claudia Wright said of fair.

Are you looking for a place where your child can learn and explore the world in a safe, yet diverse environment? If so, then join other Lakemont families in welcoming Imagination Campus - the “Ultimate Intelligence Raising Environment.” Imagination Campus offers a safe and friendly environment and is proud to be named the first Texas eco-healthy childcare and preschool by the OEC environmental council.

The campus offers daily childcare and schooling for children, birth through Kindergarten, to give them not just a head start but a leap in learning. Each curriculum is specially created and geared towards the unique stage of development your child is in. As your child grows, the curriculum changes to provide age appropriate and individually tailored classes which stress critical thinking through a globally oriented curriculum. Over time they learn about language and grammar, math, art, and technology to name a few. They even begin hearing French, Spanish and Mandarin at age two, with language classes starting at age three – always learning at their own pace in an encouraging academic environment.

Once they’ve entered grade school children can still take part in the academic programs through the After School Enrichment Program. Imagination Campus provides transportation from five Lakemont area schools throughout the school year. The program includes a healthy snack and time to do homework with the help of imagination counselors, followed by fun, relaxing activities based on a themed module which changes every three weeks (e.g. cooking or learning about matter) to increase their knowledge and understanding of the world.
