Lamar CISD offers superior learning opportunities, excellent teachers, a progressive educational theory and state of the art technology. Lamar CISD has received an Acceptable Rating in 2009, a comparable rating to nearby Fort Bend ISD. Wertheimer Middle School – 6th grade - Lamar CISD has recently introduced a 6th grade middle school campus – Wertheimer Middle School opened August 2008! This school eases the transition from elementary to higher levels with a 6th grade only campus. TEA "Exemplary" rating for 2009.
Briscoe Junior High School - 7th & 8th grade - was selected by the National Energy Education Development Project Board of Directors as the Texas School of the Year in the Youth Awards for Energy Achievement.
Foster High School - grades 9-12 - was recently bestowed the 2008 College Readiness Award in recognition of the school's having a significant increase in its ACT Composite score over the past five years while, at the same time, increasing the number of students taking the ACT Assessment. This resulted in greater numbers of Foster students being college ready as a result of the efforts of the staff and students. TEA "Recognized" rating for 2009.
